Château Valandraud
Origin : FranceChâteau Valandraud is located in the Fongaban valley, near Pavie Macquin and La Clotte. It is from this geographical location and its owners that Château Valandraud takes its name! Finally, in 2012, after many years of meticulous work and passion, Château Valandraud was recognized as a Grand Cru Classé.
Now, the terroir of Château Valandraud extends over 8.88 hectares and consists of 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec & 1% Carmenère. The harvest is manual and the vinification is done in stainless steel, wood and concrete vats. Aging lasts 18 to 30 months in 100% new barrels. The blend is then monitored by renowned consultant oenologists Jean-Philippe Fort & Michel Rolland.
At the tasting, Château Valandraud offers a black color. The nose is intense, fruity and suave. On the palate, the wine reveals a power that advances on coated tannins.
