Le Carillon d'Angelus
Origin : FranceThe Carillon d´Angélus is the second wine of Château Angélus. It was born with the 1987 vintage and represents 20 to 30% of the property's production depending on the year. It is made from a variable percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, partly collected from unclassified plots. The same care and the same winemaking techniques are applied to this wine. With the Carillon d'Angélus, the Château team offers us a ready-to-drink wine, which is a great gateway to this exceptional property. Recently, Stéphanie de Boüard chose to invest in a new cellar for the property in order to increase the production of Carillon d’Angélus.
Raised to the rank of Premier Cru Classé in 1996, Château Angélus is recognized around the world as one of the jewels of Saint-Emilion. This recognition was confirmed in 2012 by the latest classification to place Château Angélus at the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé “A”.
When tasting, the color of Carillon de l'Angélus is deep. The nose offers notes of black berries. The attack on the palate is suave, sensual, voluptuous, the structure is precise and refined, the particularly successful Cabernet Francs bring elegance and a spicy freshness. The tasting ends with a delicacy full of tension and flavor.
