Saint Estèphe de Calon Segur
Origin : FranceIn the Calon Ségur family, the third wine boasts a fresh, fruity temperament, geared towards immediate pleasure. It is essentially made from young vines with a blend that brings together Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon in a balanced way.
Since the 2013 vintage, the wine has regained its original name, Saint-Estèphe de Calon Ségur, a name which was in fact used until 1999.
Its soil is made up of a thick layer of gravel deposited by the river in the Quaternary, with a predominantly clayey Tertiary basement. And, at the top of the gravel deposits, there is also a fine level of clay of lacustrine origin.
Its grape variety is made up of 56% Cabernet sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 7% Cabernet franc, 2% Petit Verdot.
The harvest is done manually with a first control of the standing grapes and a vibrating destemmer and a manual sorting table are used. The vinification takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel tapered tanks with a vatting of 18 to 21 days.
