Château Léoville Barton
Origin : FranceThe Léoville Barton terroir is located on one of the most beautiful hills of the Garonne gravel, facing the Gironde. The property is therefore in the heart of the Saint Julien appellation, in the Médoc. In addition, the 50 hectares of Château Léoville Barton, planted in gravel soil on a clay subsoil, include a high proportion of old vines in order to obtain the best possible quality. The distribution of grape varieties is 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. These are the traditional grape varieties of the Médoc.
In addition, the harvest is carried out entirely by hand. After destemming, the berries are carefully sorted, crushed and placed in temperature-controlled wooden vats, according to their plots. First, alcoholic fermentation lasts 7-10 days. Thus, the extraction is always respectful of the juice by adjusting the number of pumpings according to the vintages and vintages. Then, the maceration takes about 3 weeks. Finally, the barrels are run off batch by batch. The wine is then aged between 16 and 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new wood, in a cellar maintained at 15 °.
At the tasting, Château Léoville Barton offers a wine with an exceptional bouquet, with aging potential worthy of the greatest Saint-Julien vintages.
